About Us
The Whale’s Tail Clam Bar is a seasonal clam shack, located on Pier 3 next to The Black Whale in New Bedford, MA.
Steve Silverstein grew up in New Bedford and worked on scallopers during high school and college summers, where he fell in love with the fishing industry, it’s people and it’s heritage. When Steve decided to focus on his Southcoast restaurants, he knew there had to be a Clam Bar in the mix.
His vision for the Whale’s Tail is an old school clam bar: a “shack” serving fresh, locally caught seafood in a casual, waterfront environment. It’s a place that is fun and cool, where locals can gather and get a taste for the fishing industry.
Steve’s son Will Silverstein (5th generation of Silversteins in business in New Bedford) manages operations at The Whale’s Tail. We encourage you to share your thoughts with Will and his team at everyone@whalestailnb.com - we love to hear your feedback!
Steve’s around too, (steve@servedwellhospitality.com), but good chance he’s gone fishing.
